This Newham based theatre group has been newly developed through our continual outreach at homes, clubs and day centres.

About the group

The group is keen to explore new ideas particularly around using storytelling and music.

Homelands

Their work includes ‘Homelands’ which was an interactive exhibition that looked at stories around migration and settlement in Newham.

This successful project was run in partnership with Cornerstones Café, Forest Gate Community Gardens and Earlham Primary School Newham.

Cooking Connections

Their other work was ‘Cooking Connections’ – a cookbook that contained reminiscences, reflections and recipes that they shared their loved ones both past and present.

This project was commissioned by Culture Within Newham and funded by Arts Council England.

Homelands helps us to share memories to give to grandchildren – rather than it passing away with us.

To hear other people speak and learn about their experiences first hand has been a real eye opener for me….I really enjoy talking about the things that I’ve missed, it brings back really nice memories for me. And of course the music is the icing on the cake….”
